Steel fiber classification and stress characteristics
1. Steel fiber classification:

The raw materials of steel fiber are mainly carbon steel and low alloy steel. Stainless steel can be used in special corrosive environments.

There are four main types of steel fibers widely used at home and abroad: high-strength steel wire cutting type, thin plate shearing type, ingot milling type and melt drawing type.

1. Steel wire cutting type steel fiber is made by cutting cold-drawn steel wire according to the required length with a cutting machine

2. Thin plate shearing type steel fiber is cut by cold-rolled thin steel strip;

3. Melt drawing type steel fiber is a circular disc with a spiral angle on the outer edge head that contacts the surface of molten steel. When the disc contacts the molten steel, the molten steel is brought out at the moment of rotation. Due to the centrifugal force during rotation, the disc is cooled at the same time, and the molten steel brought out by the disc is quickly solidified into fiber;

4. Ingot milling type steel fiber is made of steel ingots by milling with a special milling cutter.

2. Steel fiber stress characteristics:

When the steel fiber concrete matrix is destroyed, the steel fiber is basically pulled out of the matrix instead of being broken. Therefore, the reinforcing effect of the steel fiber mainly depends on the bonding performance with the matrix. The bonding performance of the steel fiber varieties with irregular shapes and rough surfaces is better.

The shape of the fiber also affects its dispersion in the mixture and the fluidity of the concrete mixture. The fluidity of the steel fiber concrete with irregular shapes, rough surfaces and large aspect ratio is reduced.
