How To Detect Steel Fiber?

Jan 05, 2024|

1. The tensile strength test of steel fiber requires that its tensile strength is not less than 380MPa.
2. The bending resistance of steel fibers. Steel fibers should be able to withstand continuous bending of 3mm diameter steel rods at 90°. No less than 10 pieces should be inspected in each batch.
3. Impurity content: There should be no oil stains on the surface of steel fibers, no harmful substances or impurities that affect the bonding between steel fibers and concrete.
4. The length deviation of steel fibers should not exceed 10% of the standard length, and at least 10 fibers in each batch should be randomly inspected.
5. The passing rate of the diameter or equivalent diameter of steel fibers shall not be less than 90%. The weight method can be used for inspection. 100 fibers per batch shall be randomly inspected, weighed with a balance, and measured with a caliper. The equivalent average value must meet the requirements. .
Inspection of raw materials:
The quality control standards of the above raw materials must be met and inspections should be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the technical specifications for highway engineering construction.
Inspection of steel fiber concrete:
The workability, slump and water-cement ratio of steel fiber concrete should be focused on. At the same time, the distribution of steel fibers in concrete must be visually inspected on site. If steel fiber agglomeration is found, the mixing time should be extended.
