Curved floor armored joints are a special joint material used in concrete floors. This joint material forms a flexible curve in the concrete floor, allowing the floor material to move with natural morphology without being damaged.
They act as a permanent formwork to form a safety boundary or day joint during the concrete pouring process. They allow the concrete slab to shrink in a controlled manner to prevent random cracks. Once the building is in use, they protect the edges of the construction joint from impact damage, saving repair costs.
How does it work?
Durashield armored joints are installed at the designed construction joint location, and once the concrete is poured, the drying concrete slab will produce shrinkage forces during the curing process.
This causes the plastic bolt to shear, allowing the two steel profiles to open at the allowed joint opening.
Durashield allows slight controlled slab movement caused by drying shrinkage and thermal changes in the horizontal direction of the slab plane, and limits the vertical displacement of the slab. Durashield Armored Joints comply with Joint Standard EN 10277-1:2018, Shear Studs comply with EN IS0 13918:2017, Duraplate complies with EN 100252:2004, Durasleeves are made of ABS and are designed according to TR-34.
